Description
Asclepius is the god of health in Greek mythology, and he was very knowledgeable about medicine and surgery. According to belief, because he found a way to resurrect the dead, he was struck by lightning and killed by Zeus. The largest of the "Asclepion" temples is located in Bergama; these temples were used as hospitals, and each of them gives information about the architecture and medicine of the period. The original Asclepius statue is in the Ephesus Museum.
The sculpture is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
